You're wrong! As soon as you characterize a whole race by saying for example "black people are intelligent", you're already making a racist statement! You can say "I know a lot of intelligent black people", because then you're talking about your personal experience and you don't talk about "black people" as a whole.
Racism begins with stereotyping. Even if you don't put any of the parties on top.
