Enjoyed this video. Elvis was such a grateful and polite 21 years old. That is one of the reasons we Elvis fans look up on him, such a good boy. I always love Elvis as my brother, can't wait to meet him in heaven.

The line up in heaven of people wanting to meet Elvis probably stretches into eternity...of course he has all eternity to meet everyone.
Also, in heaven does Elvis look like the young, 1956 Elvis? The middle-period, leather-clad 1968 Elvis? Or the bloated, jumpsuitted Elvis of the '70s?
Finally, in heaven, does Elvis put on concerts? Does "The Colonel," who passed away in 1998 I think, charge admission? Is he still Elvis's manager? Or does Jesus manage Elvis's celestial career?

Elvis was so damn ... ( 4 months ago by ZombieEaterz)
Elvis was so damn nice, no ego or anything. I think he was just bemused and shocked at all the attention that was focused on him, he was essentially a naive country boy from the South, and then quickly became the most famous star in the world.
He definatley was not happy with fame, he most likely would still be alive today if he never became famous.

I was there. A class member of ours was so excited that she was photographed rolling on the floor squealing with anticipation. when Elvis came out, we stormed the stage and stood inches from him. everyone screamed so loudly that we couldn't hear a word he sang. The next day some older girls from our school (Logan) claimed they had climbed the fire escape and gotten to Elvis's room where he autographed their breasts. Sadly the City Father's banned Elvis from ever performing in LaCrosse again.

I figured it was Lindy Shannon? Lindy was big guy with a big heart, LaX's ans to Dick Clark. But it doesn't exactly sound like him. Are you sure it's him? . I thought it might have been Doc Lyons whom I understood was the promoter who brought Elvis to Lax and supposedly picked him up at the airport. Can't recall why he was called Doc. He was wealthy and in a wheel chair...Lax's Hugh Hefner. Doc once dated Joan Engh who became the 1st runner up in '62 Miss America pageant.

I don't know if he signed breasts or not. Years later I remember reading that he did. But I can't remember where I read it...possibly in the tell-all book "Elvis: What Happened" by Red West, one of Elvis's so-called Memphis Mafia.

Diessemia, I think Elvis was 5'11". No kisses. we ran to the foot of the stage but didn't get onto the stage.
By today's standards it was a very, very 'unstaged' performance. it was more like being in your high school auditorium: no special effects, very basic lighting and the sound system was practically nonexistent. The local paper took a photo from the wings, showing Elvis with us kids standing at the foot of the stage totally enthralled, I'm one of those kids in that photo.

Great stuff, many thanks for this (and the nicely-done slide show). I'm just reading Peter Guralnick's "Last Train to Memphis - The Rise of Elvis Presley" and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in that era.
