Congressman Paul's consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, "Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers' ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are." Another colleague observed, "There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few."

Axle, I don't want ... ( 2 days ago by dviesq)
Axle, I don't want to rehash the whole cult of personality thing. It's a shame his message got drowned by twoofers and misfits and others who had no idea what he was even saying. Most, have gone on to new thrills. For them, it was just an amuzement park thrill ride, no substance involved, like Annie, who now thinks Obama's the greatest thing. Thrill seekers, belonging seekers, etc. Well, we can spend forever speculating on what went wrong or what could've been possible.
No need to rehash. ... ( 2 days ago by axlerodhomeboy)
No need to rehash. I see what you mean, but there's something organic there. There are folks who had questions, and Ron Paul tuned into that. I've before said that he attracted some nuts. Well, he helped us... you know... the crazy ones. Some will continue to fight, some will move on, but we'll remember this. Who knows what it will mean to us in the future? Maybe you could shed some light... it sounds like you've done this before. :)

Yes, I have. It's that feeling of your wishing your football team you've rooted for all your life finally is has a chance and tears your heart in two with a playoff loss. Then, you realize each player and owner are still millionaires laughing all the way to the bank, even after losing, and you have given it all you've got and are the depressed one. I don't know if you're a sports fan and you may think I'm trivializing; I'm not, or I don't intend to.
In the fall there ... ( 1 day ago by dviesq)
In the fall there was a window where the national media started to pay attention to Paul and started running stories on him. They FELT a story, they felt the energy, the excitement (let's face it, they'll sell their soul to the devil for a story, despite the media conspiracy paultards promote.) THAT's where he could've taken off as an alternative choice. When he didn't, the Dems and the Reps fell in line for the favorite and it was over; a historic opportunity wasted.
It may have been ... ( 1 day ago by dviesq)
It may have been lost in the details, but you, as well as many others, may have first learned of Paul last fall BECAUSE at that time they ran stories on him. That was a historic moment that was lost forever.

Son...Let me tell you something, this whole world is run by nerds you moron. And by nerds, I mean smart people that know they can take advantage of stupid people like yourself. It's people like you that make this possible. And before you go on with you big cock ego, I'll woops your ass. Ohh yeah, learn how to write and spell.
I learned about ... ( 1 day ago by axlerodhomeboy)
I learned about Paul before all the controversy... a friend (a self described democrat) told me about him. He was an ally for a while, but he caved and voted for Obama. I did NOT get my political views FROM him. I merely learned how to better express them.

The stories were ... ( 1 day ago by axlerodhomeboy)
The stories were the controversy he created and the money he raised. MAN he is good at getting under people's skin. The opposition view to your theory is that he would have been marginalized even more with a 3rd party run. Surely you must have some appreciation for what he attempted to do for 3rd parties after he left the race. When voting time came, I ignored everything I heard from the media, including what Ron Paul said, and I wrote him in. No impact, just a voice in a sea of bullshit

Ohh yes, It was you, my mistake. The only reason I called you out, was because I thought you called someone a nerd for stating their opinions, but I guess I was too drunk to notice the Brackets on that quote.

"The stories were the controversy..." I completely disagree. The media was interested in the fall. I saw the stories. There was excitement, curiosity, energy, money. You have this belief that having been a Rep. candidate gave him more exposure. So, he's one of 10 candidates during the debate watched mostly by Reps who already had their candidate piced out. Being one of THREE candidates in a GENERAL debate would not have given him MORE exposure? Pardon me.

You are pardoned. ... ( 22 hours ago by axlerodhomeboy)
You are pardoned. Even if you're right, he just ends up playing Nader to McCain, and the repubs blame him for the dem victory, and what remaining influence does he have? A Nader-like influence? Plz. It was a CHOICE, man... a choice he had to make. So you disagree with the decisions he made. What do you think would have happened if he dumped his seat in Congress and ran 3rd party like you wanted him to? Who would be president today if he had run 3rd party? What good would come?
Furthermore, who ... ( 21 hours ago by axlerodhomeboy)
Furthermore, who would own his seat in Congress? I'll tell you who. A man that praised Paul publicly until it was politically inconvenient for him to do so, then he turned on him. A democrat. Just another POLITICIAN, but one less principled, less influential, and probably less interested in the things that made Paul appealing in the first place. We'll have to agree to disagree on this. You won't budge, and neither will I.
You should be ... ( 21 hours ago by axlerodhomeboy)
You should be ECSTATIC with his decisions. He made republicans (especially McCain) look stupid, petty, and irrelevant. Those tools still talk about the party of Reagan... the party of Lincoln... plz. What about the party of axlerodhomeboy, you tools? So they claim to be "conservative." Conservative of WHAT? Where do they draw the line? At what point in history do they determine things were good enough to start preserving them? They, like democrats, pick and choose whatever is popular
He ran 3rd party... ... ( 21 hours ago by axlerodhomeboy)
He ran 3rd party... from within the Republican party, AND he got to hold onto his seat in Congress. I know my dumb ass Congressman doesn't even seem to HAVE principles. He believes very strongly in our nations drug laws. He voted for Iraq every time it came up, and he's a blue-dog frickin' democrat that wants to listen to peoples' phone conversations. Pervert.

When it comes to it ... ( 51 minutes ago by dviesq)
When it comes to it, you trade in your free thinking and objectivity for party loyalty. You still don't see that the two parties play for the same team. What's he accomplishing as a representative? Out of DIGNITY and INTEGRITY, given the past 8 years, he should've quit the party and ran 3rd party. Whatever.

He ain't giving up his membership card for principle. He's not stupid.
