Sia is perhaps one of the most underrated singers of today. She can compete right up there with the mainstream popular singers, but isnt as famous for some odd reason. Maybe she prefers it that way.

She doesn't own the rights...that's the crappy reality of modern music, once her label promoted and released her work, those songs (in most cases, some contracts allow for variations but that's generally only in bands who are being sought after like Nirvana in the early 90's) become the property OF the record company. She likely wouldn't have anything to do with selling the song since it is, legally, no longer hers.

Yeah, record companies can be pretty slimy that way...it's a dichotomy because musicians (I've felt this first-hand being one) WANT their music out there, they want the widest possible audience they can manage to hear the art they've worked so hard on so a lot of times, newer artists especially, they'll allow things like this not to get money or anything but because they want as many people as they can to hear their work...

As a side, damn you for making me come back here...lol this song is one of those ones I cannot hear the beginning to, if I do I end up listening to the whole thing then getting my guitar and playing along. Absolutely stunning, simple song...the entire thing is 4 chords (literally, "Am C F Dm" is the ENTIRE song with little flourishes here and there), but it's an absolutely riveting melody. There's few songs I can hear over and over again and still love as much the 100th time as the 1st.

Nuts! Why this girl is still underground and virtually unheard of, has to be the mystery of the year. If I owned a record company I would have signed her asap.
